Twelfth Night

at the GARNER Arts Center

Anywhere Theatre is thrilled to partner with GARNER Arts Center, one of New York’s most exciting and cutting-edge contemporary arts museums, to present a bold new production of Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare.

About the Show

This is Twelfth Night reimagined – cool, immediate, and alive – set right inside the soaring galleries and industrial beauty of Garner’s repurposed 19th-century textile mill complex. Surrounded by contemporary art, the play unfolds as a living, breathing installation where theatre, music, and visual masterpieces collide.

Featuring original live music by folk-rock group The Altogether, this production pulses with fresh energy. Their sound doesn’t just accompany the action – it drives it. Like your favorite indie film brought to life, the music weaves through Shakespeare’s language, amplifying the sensuality, mischief, longing, and joy at the heart of the comedy. The result is soulful, surprising, and irresistibly toe-tapping.

Viola’s daring disguise, Orsino’s lovesick yearning, Olivia’s fierce independence, and the riotous antics of Malvolio, Sir Toby, and Feste the Clown unfold in a space devoted to bold artistic experimentation. At Garner Arts Center, where contemporary art sparks dialogue and pushes boundaries, Shakespeare’s timeless themes of love, identity, and transformation feel thrillingly present. Each artistic form – text, music, visual art, architecture – bounces off the others, creating something extraordinary and completely unique.

This is Twelfth Night as immersive event: a feast for the eyes, the ears, and the imagination. Classic comedy meets brand-new music. Contemporary museum meets timeless storytelling. Together, they create a one-of-a-kind early Spring night you won’t want to miss.
