RUMPELSTILSKIN IN SPACE! is a brand-new science fiction adventure musical – a perfect mix of interactive theatre, original music, dazzling visuals, and slapstick laughs that will leave kids and families beaming with joy!
The Story
Rumpelstiltskin has traded spinning wheels for spaceships and starlight in this futuristic twist on the classic fairytale! In our story, he’s a clever trickster rogue, zooming through galaxies under the command of the wicked Queen Quark, the all-powerful Space Witch. Alongside his snarky AI sidekick Oscar, Rumpelstiltskin searches the universe for “Star Shifters” – beings who can transform starlight into gold! Once he tricks them with his clever riddles, he takes them back to the Space Witch to spin starlight into gold…forever!
But when he meets Stella Nova, a young shifter with a galactic heart, everything changes… Will he continue his tricks, or find the courage to rewrite his destiny?
Like K-Pop Demon Hunters or Ponyo, Rumpelstiltskin in Space! takes folklore and fairytales into the future with infectious music, colorful costumes and sets, and plenty of interactive adventure for everyone!

- PHYSICAL! Audience members can take part in alien dance lessons like “Galactic Glide” or join the sound effect squad by making rocket noises, laser blasts, or thunderclaps using their bodies!
- GENTLE! Rumpelstiltskinin Space! takes science fiction and adventure story tropes and converts them into gentle, silly energy. In our universe, it’s not a laser battle, it’s a dance off; light sabers become pool noodles, and noisemakers become rocket engines!

Creative Magic Behind the Scenes:
Who wrote the Music and Songs? Right after bringing their incredible work to Anywhere’s 2025 production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, The Altogether (Jonah Scott, Emma Freeman, and Sierra Scott) brought their signature folk-rock sound to the breathtaking galaxy of Rumpelstiltskin in Space in 2025!
Who created the Artwork? Philadelphia-based artist Keni Thomas (aka thomcat23) brought his graffiti-meets-pop-culture flair to the show’s projected settings, with plans to animate his artwork and create a visually spectacular universe. He’s also designed the official show poster that is out-of-this-world!
