Bringing Stories To Life
Grades 2–5
In the Bringing Stories to Life program, students grades 2–4 work with theatre educators from the Anywhere Theatre Company to conceive, write, and perform a piece of theater for an audience based on stories or history they study every day.
Past themes for stories into plays have included Fractured Fairy Tales, Folk Tales, Aesop’s Fables, and Cinderella Stories from Around the World.
Young people will learn the basics of theater while also exploring story structure and character analysis, tableau work and improvisation, new vocabulary, vocal technique and so much more.
By creating their own versions of classic tales or even history and bringing them to life on stage, these young playwrights and actors take ownership of their stories and so gain greatly in confidence and self-esteem.
